Wedding Pallet Collage DIY | Kendra Denault Photography

July 2, 2016

I’m excited to share with you all a DIY wedding pallet collage project! With our outdoor orchard/barn wedding, I had to get creative when it came to displaying pictures. Since there wasn’t really any good open wall space or a white wall for that matter, having a slideshow was out of the question. Besides, I didn’t really feel like putting one together to be honest. Hahah. So I ended up making this – a DIY wedding pallet collage.

Anyway, let’s get into it! Everyone loved the way these turned out and hey, it was good practice for a gallery wall! πŸ™‚

I slowly gathered random frames over the course of a few months with the end result in mind. All of my frames were from Home Goods, Target, random garage sales, and mostly Dollar Tree. Since our wedding theme incorporated mixed metals (mostly copper, rose gold and gold) I got many in those colors. Plus white and silver.

I also had some initial letters and a small grape vine wreath I randomly picked up from Dollar Tree, so that’s what I laid on the pallets first to work around. By the way, I just used some pallets from my parents fruit farm and power washed them. I stood one on end (like a portrait) and the other on it’s side (landscape).

Instructions for wedding pallet collage

I just went to town on placing the frames wherever I thought would look good. After slightly rearranging, I still had a few blank spaces, so over time I picked up a few more frames to complete the wedding pallet collage. After that, I counted how many of each size photos I needed and printed them and put them in their respective frames. I also bought this Project Life Southern Weddings Edition Specialty Cards kit to place in a few frames because they had cute quotes in metallic prints. πŸ™‚

To adhere the frames to the pallet, I bought a 15 foot role of Velcro from Amazon. I placed two pieces of Velcro on the back of each frame after removing the stand (if it had one). I found the easiest way to do this was to stick the Velcro together on the frame, peel of the protective strip, and place it onto the pallet. That way you don’t have to worry about lining up the strips of Velcro. (In the pictures below, I am showing you what it looks like after I peeled the frame off).

It was awesome seeing it all come together and many people commented on how fun this wedding pallet collage was! Now we have these just propped against the wall in our basement, but it would be super easy to switch out the pictures if any of my friends wanted to use them for their wedding or even a graduation party.

Thank you Miranda & Trish for providing me with these swoon worthy photos of our special day πŸ™‚ Please share your pallet collage with me on Instagram if you decide to make a wedding pallet collage! I would love to see!! πŸ™‚
